The Turning Radical Change Begins, Nick Anthony Fiorenza

Astronomical Myth is a "picture language," imagery that articulates the qualities of cosmic intelligence expressing throughout the greater heavens and through our lives. We are not separate from the greater heavens, from the stars and planets around us, or from our beloved Earth, but are intimate parts of this dynamic, continually unfolding heavenly symphony. This entirety is our cosmic consciousness, the totality of our being. To explore the greater heavens and the heavenly cycles is to explore that which we are--our embracing consciousness and our spiritual evolution.

The stars would not be in the heavens
if we were meant to walk in darkness.

The purpose of the Lunar Planner is to learn to live in the experiential awareness of the present. Although the material below can provide philosophical context for your personal experience, the New Moon is the ideal time to experientially "tune in" to get your personalized lunar month's theme. Then, consciously participate with the changing Lunar Phase Characteristics in the unfoldment of that theme in your daily life using the Lunar Calendar and Lunar Planner Introduction (links at the bottom).

Lunar Cycle Overview

Our New Moon of March 22, 2012 conjoins retrograde Mercury and Uranus in early sidereal Pisces. Conjoining stars include Diphda of Cetus, Alpha Sculptoris and the Sculptor Galaxy, Eta Cepheus and Eta Horologium. Also of influence is Scheat of the great Square of Pegaus and the foundation of the polar axis of our Galaxy.

Our Uranian-Mercurial New Moon with these star alignments stimulates elevated and progressive intellectual inventiveness to evolve our lives and our world beyond our antiquated and tormenting technobureaucratic driven paradigm. A sense of impending time dominates the air as this lunar cycle heralds us into a revolutionary and revelatory few-year period ahead. Unexpected, spontaneous radical change is highlighted. It especially invites us to reexamine what we are doing with our fundamental life force in our every day lives, and if this is in alignment with the evolutionary changes at hand.

“Become the change you want to see in the world.”
Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi

The stimulating and challenging Grand Square that formed in the previous lunar cycle continues as retrograde Mars squares the Lunar Nodes and stationing Juno while opposing Chiron. This continues to motivate dynamic action to redefine how we interrelate and participate on Earth, and to create new bridges into a healthy societal future. Juno, the asteroid of covenant relationships, begins its four-month retrograde creating a shifting and sorting period for partnerships of all types.

Mars will complete its retrograde later in this lunar cycle at the same time Pluto begins its retrograde on the Disseminating Moon. Occurring on April 10-13, this few day period marks “The Turning,” where we may feel a wall of fiery pent-up energy that must express. How it expresses (creatively or destructively) is a function of the transformations we all have made regarding how we are using our creative power throughout the entire Mars retrograde period, which began in January, and also based upon events or changes initiated in our lives occurring in mid-November of 2011. This Turning leads us into an accelerated squeeze as we approach the first of seven triggers of the Uranus-Pluto Square, which starts after the June 6 Venus Transit and continues into 2015.

Seismic Alert: Several planetary configurations occurring in this lunar cycle can produce extreme Earthgrid resonances that can result in significant seismic events. These include the March 22, 2012 New Moon Earth-Moon-Mercury-Sun-Uranus alignment, and the few days around it. The Uranus-Sun resonance is focused through Mercury, which acts like a spherical harmonic lens, to the Moon-Earth alignment. This creates a laser-like columnar beam of catalytic energy into Earth’s core that re-distributes throughout the Earth Grid and into Human Consciousness. This initial impulse sets up a sustained resonance expressing throughout this lunar cycle that is further stimulated and activated by additional geometric/harmonic configurations occurring as the Sun-Moon partiles progress.

These include the First Quarter Moon of March 30, which consists of a Moon-Sun-Pluto T-square; the Disseminating Moon of April 10, which involves a Lunar Node-Juno-Venus-Mars geometry; and the Last Quarter Moon of April 13. This coincides with the Pluto-Mars “Turning” of April 10-13. The sustaining Grand Square involving retrograde Mars and the Lunar Nodes compounds all of these configurations. The Mercury-Uranus New Moon in early sidereal Pisces (in resonance with the Galactic Polar Axis) may produce unexpected water related events as well. This Lunar Cycle nests upon Earth’s Precessional Cross, thus stimulating dynamic evolutionary change. Whether manifest as seismic-related events or not, this lunar cycle impels us to make prominent and radical changes in our lives, to attune to what really matters in life, which is merely a prerequisite for what is to come as we now enter the few-year long Uranus-Pluto square in the 138-year Uranus-Pluto cycle that began in January 1966.

This lunar cycle may seem somewhat intense and dynamic, but it ultimately brings us to a greater humanitarian focus.

These are just a few of many events occurring in this lunar cycle. The Monthly Lunar Planner explores the details of these events, their meaning and more—the underlying cosmic currents upon which we evolve and which guide our daily lives—based in star-level astronomical astrology and synodic astrology.

"The stars would not be in the heavens if we were meant to walk in darkness."

About Synodic Cycles

Synodic Cycles are created when two (or more) planets align in their orbits around the Sun. The synodic cycle theme, defined by the planets involved and the star alignments at the time, will unfold until the two planets align again, marking the completion of the synodic cycle and the beginning of the next one.

There are many synodic cycles with unique astrological themes occurring simultaneously, creating a harmonic symphony of creative unfoldment in consciousness. Synodic cycles can be thought of as longer-term underlying currents, much like the backdrop chorus of a symphony, providing the underlying astrological context guiding our evolution.

New Moon Phase Characteristics

The New Moon Lunar Theme

Our New Moon of March 22, 2012 conjoins retrograde Mercury and Uranus in early sidereal Pisces. Conjoining stars include Diphda and Iota of Cetus, Alpha Sculptoris and the Sculptor Galaxy, Eta Cepheus and Eta Horologium. Also of influence is Scheat of the Great Square of Pegasus the Primordial Polar axis of our Galaxy.

The Sun conjoins retrograde Mercury the day before the New Moon, which began the new Earth-Mercury synodic cycle, presented in the previous lunar planner. The Sun and Uranus make their exact conjunction on March 24, slightly after the New Moon. All three are tightly conjoined on the New Moon.

The Sun-retrograde Mercury-Uranus synthesis brings our focus to self-awareness and it can stimulate lightning-like flashes of illumination. It can bring fresh alternative perspective to what were old problems. It supports a heightened level of intellectual prowess and inventiveness. It impels us to break away from the conformity of the past and to make radical or reforming changes in our lives. It is favorable for progressive future-focused innovative thinking, especially regarding technology. It invites us to live true to our uniqueness and to appreciate the uniqueness of others. It brings attention to issues of freedom and to our ability to freely express our uniqueness in the world. It also invites us to expect the unexpected, and to trust intuition and feeling based from a heighten sense of awareness.

We are still in a period of redefining the logistical aspects of our lives due to Mercury’s retrograde, and Uranus inspires innovation in this process, to do things in a new way. Coinciding with the Mars retrograde, a time of transformation for the masculine principle, this helps us to define new ways in which we can come to apply our creative power and leadership capacities as Mars returns direct later in this lunar cycle and as we move into the next lunar cycle in sidereal Aries.

Pisces is the constellation of the two fishes—a dual sign. The western fish swims west, horizontally along the ecliptic plane, with its head marking the cusp of sidereal Pisces, marked by the “Circlet” of stars. The western fish articulates our primordial (and sleeping) nature, and our unconscious participation in the cycle of mortal life. The eastern fish leaps upward, vertically from the ecliptic plane, seeking a greater freedom at the shores of sidereal Aries. The eastern fish articulates our desire to ascend from our primordial origins, and our capacity to awaken from submersion in the tumultuous psychic emotional human world articulated by southern Cetus.

Diphda and Iota of Cetus form the thrashing tail of the technobureaucratic monster of collective human consciousness, the sea monster about to devour Andromeda in the story of Andromeda and the Royal family. Diphda creates a strong emotional turbulence, bringing the potential to get knocked down and thrashed around due to the inability to lift ourselves above the dramatics of the intense psycho-emotional forces of the human world and its bureaucracies. The stars of Cetus comprise a principal part of the theme of sidereal Pisces—the body of human consciousness.

Uranus (NASA)

Uranus

Uranus placement in the chart reveals where and how we break from the conformity of the past. Uranus is radical, spontaneous, and electrical. It supports the expression of our uniqueness and originality.

Uranus, in its clear and evolved expression, brings the ability to spontaneously change and to create new frontiers in experience and consciousness. It is the true pioneer, uninhibited by convention and establishment (Saturn). Uranus inspires the expression of our unique individuality in radical confidence. Uranus instills a future-orientation and humanitarian focus; and embodies quickness and alertness of consciousness often producing a lightning-like creative mind when prominently aspected. Uranus provides an ability to work with higher orders and principles—providing a higher-mind prowess for telepathy and all super-consciousness functions and mechanisms. Uranus instills an appreciation of excellence and perfection. It is the applier of the higher sciences and inspires new discoveries in technology and consciousness.

Conjoining Diphda are Eta Cepheus and Eta Horologium. They impel a sense of impending time and the need for aid to slip by the dangers of the trashing tail. They can also indicate an emotional barrier to cross or an emotional tension to relinquish. They make us aware that emotional clarity is of issue.

Mercury's Retrograde Path over the Vernal Point,
its conjunctions with Uranus, and the March 22, New Moon
©2012 Nick Anthony Fiorenza

The Mercury-Uranus New Moon occurs just east of the Vernal Point of Earth’s Precessional Cross, which lies at ~5° sidereal Pisces (0° tropical Aries). This is in alignment with the polar axis of our galaxy, which is square to the Galactic equatorial axis in the ecliptic). Thus, this New Moon also activates Earth’s Precessional Cross and acts as a significant catalyst in the evolutionary transition currently at hand for Earth and humanity occurring in our greater ~25,000-year precessional cycle.

Scheat of Pegasus is one of the four stars of the Great Square of Pegasus and it enters the ecliptic at ~5° sidereal Pisces, conjoining the "Primordial Origin,” which is the most northern point along the galactic equator from the ecliptic plane. South of this point is the South Galactic Pole (SGP), the foundation of life. Lacerta, the lizard, lies along the galactic equator, just over the Great Square of Pegasus, and is gatekeeper to the Primordial Origin. Lacerta embodies our pure unadulterated primordial essence. Lacerta holds the knowledge of elemental forces that mold consciousness into organic form; awareness that precedes thought itself.

Scheat reveals the essence of early sidereal Pisces and the very foundation of life--water. Scheat brings attention to our life force and the use of it. Scheat also brings our attention to the waters of life and to the purity of our body fluids, especially our "lymph," which means Flowing Spirit of the Living Waters of Life. Scheat pertains to all waters of the world, but also to body fluids, especially water's relationship to the purification of the physical vehicle and the body's requirement for refined life force energies to express through the fluids molecular matrix. Scheat also brings attention to our blood, sacred sexual fluids and saliva, as well as to the types of fluids that we bring into our bodies. The purity and movement of the lymph and blood is not only essential for the elimination of toxins, but is also required for the transference of subtle light energies of cosmic intelligence (our soul's essence) to express through our genetic coding. The more light we express the truer we express the vibrancy of our souls, and the more life giving spirit substance we embody. This is why peoples throughout history have sought Living Water--healing springs flowing endlessly from the ground of their own accord, water said to bring immortality--the word immortality here meaning "not being subject to premature degeneration and death." Alignments with Scheat ask us to consider what we are doing with our primordial life force, how we are using our Chi / Xi, our primal energy. Scheat also asks us to integrate our primordial essence with our spiritual essence--to realize they are one flowing life-giving force.

A spectacular new image of the Sculptor Galaxy (NGC 253) has been taken with the ESO VISTA telescope at the Paranal Observatory in Chile as part of one of its first major observational campaigns. By observing in infrared light VISTA’s view is less affected by dust and reveals a myriad of cooler stars as well as a prominent bar of stars across the central region. The VISTA image provides much new information on the history and development of the galaxy.

Here we are concerned with the origins of life on Earth, the creation of the human form, and water, the very foundation of life. The South Galactic Pole (SGC), the foundation of the galactic plane, resides in Sculptoris, the sculptor’s studio, and the Sculptor Group of Galaxies. Alpha Sculptor and the Sculptor Galaxy conjoin and embrace the South Galactic Pole. They articulate the formation of human life from the primordial waters of life, the molding of clay into human form. Although a recent addition to stellar mythical imagery, aptly Sculptor is from the Latin sculpere, meaning to cut (sculpt)--in this case, to sculpt life itself. Alpha Sculptor stimulates our need to create our lives from the primordial forces of life.

This is a mutable area of the zodiak and here Uranus and Mercury inspire the amalgamation of unique ideas and conceptual thought into a workable form that moves us from the limits and bounds of the past into a radically new future.

The Sun and the Earth-Uranus synodic cycle

The Sun’s conjunction with Uranus on March 24 marks the mid-point of vision and realization in the current Earth-Uranus synodic cycle. The theme of this cycle began on September 26, 2011 in sidereal Pisces under the influence of these same stars. Thus it and the theme of this lunar cycle are one and the same. This is lunar cycle is the actuallization of the Uranus Synodic theme.

Juno and the Grand Square

The asteroid Juno stations on the North Lunar Node hours after the Sun-Uranus alignment with retrograde Mars squaring the Lunar Nodal axis and opposing Chiron. All are within a 1° orb in aspect. This square can be seen in the above astrological chart and was presented in detail in the previous Lunar Planner. See the February 21, 2011 Lunar Planner. Juno's retrograde path in Ophiuchus and Serpens is shown in the star chart to the right.

Juno

Juno, goddess of love, is the asteroid of covenant relationships, soul colleagues, and true lovers. In the astrological chart, Juno indicates the nature of the issues and opportunities in significant relations of all sorts: those that are of a personal nature to those of political leaders and nations of the world. Mature Juno is diplomatic, tactful, cooperative, and mutually trusting. Mature Juno expresses with a sense of equality within self that provides the ability to draw true partners and those of equality into one’s life. There is an acceptance of another’s truth or opinion without need to challenge or debate. There is an ability to honor and support others in their own choices and decisions. Mature Juno expresses in mutual support and unconditional love to allow each other to grow and change through whatever issues surface. Potential Juno issues can manifest as superiority / inferiority complexes or other issues based around inequality. More about Juno.

Creative use of power in relationships is highlighted and how we apply it to create and cross a bridge into a sustainable and socially mature future. Relationships and how we interrelate are the focus due to the Juno-North Lunar Node alignment. Juno’s retrograde, which starts now and continues through July 16, engages a time of restructuring in partnerships of all types and in how we all interrelate. It can produce a sorting of our relationships, the dissolution of some and/or the forming of new partnerships.

Juno and the North Lunar Node reside in mid-sidereal Scorpio and in the constellation of Ophiuchus, the meaning of which was also presented in the previous lunar planner.

This Grand Square remains intact throughout this lunar cycle as it did in the previous lunar cycle—one of the longest standing Grand Squares I have seen. Juno on the North Node also maintains its square to Mars after Mars returns direct and into the following lunar cycle. Thus, this creative and stimulating tension (or conflict for some) that began in the previous lunar cycle is not letting up. When Mars returns direct at The Turning of April 10-13, there will be tremendous motive to engage in partnerships. How that plays out in our lives can be incredibly creative and it can be intensely conflictual for less aware people in the world, which may be a part of a sorting catalyst for partnerships.

Crescent Moon Phase Characteristics

Star Chart
The Crescent Moon
Expanding on the Theme

The hours before the Crescent Moon provide a time when we relinquish patterns of the past that would limit our creative ability to expand on the lunar theme now unfolding. The Crescent Moon is the time when the sprouting seedling sloughs off its protective coat of the past and emerges in a new expression. As the Crescent Moon unfolds, the growing phase of the lunar cycle begins as we start to amalgamate our personal creativity with the original lunar theme.

The Crescent Moon of March 26 occurs in late sidereal Aries and conjoins Venus, recently discovered Sedna, and the Centaur Asbolus.

We are at the “eastern elongation” of Venus. This means that Venus is approaching its furthest point east of the Sun, as seen from Earth, before the Sun-Venus angle will start to decrease, which will eventually culminate into the Venus Transit, when Venus and the Sun conjoin and Earth and Venus begin their new synodic cycle in early June. During Venus’ eastern elongations, Venus and the Crescent Moon conjoin, which have been occurring throughout these few Crescent Moons. You can learn more about how this all works here: E-Motions of the Heart: Venus Elongations & the Crescent Moon. The actual eastern elongation occurs on March 27, 2012. Thus this is the tightest Venus-Crescent Moon alignment, with Venus being most influential, and Venus’s additional conjunction with Sedna and Asbolus makes this Venus-Crescent Moon extra significant as well.

Venus, Jupiter and the Crescent Moon can still be seen in the western sky just after sunset, although Venus and Jupiter are further apart now. Jupiter and Venus are the brightest objects in the sunset sky.

Venus

The astrophysical resonances of Venus govern the heart bio-energy centre (chakra), and the thymus, which is the neurological control center for the immune system. Like the thyroid (governed by Mercury) is reflexed to the liver, the thymus is reflexed to the spleen. The heart chakra is our centre of intuitive knowing, harmony, magnetic attraction, that which we value, love, romance, and sexual rapture. It is where we find our capacity for compassion and appreciation of beauty. The heart chakra and thymus resonate to the emotional tone of fear and judgment. It is fear that shuts the heart down and causes all immune related problems. We defend our fear with judgment.

Venus (and the heart chakra), when mature and clear, expresses love in art and beauty, with a wonderful capacity for unconditional acceptance of all conditions--true, non-judgmental love. The unconditionally open heart receives and expresses love that is harmoniously balanced. Mature Venus is open to new experience, is courageous, optimistic, and aware of soul intent and purpose--as the unconditionally open heart is where soul fully radiates its light. Mature Venus is also sociable, fashionable, artistic, good willed, benevolent, diplomatic, and magnetically sensuous. Venus is also of wealth and resources and plays a prominent role in financial matters and the flow of money.

Sedna

A planet-like object, or planetoid, orbiting the Sun at an extreme distance, in the coldest known region of our solar system was discovered in November of 2003. The planetoid (2003 VB12), was named Sedna for an Inuit goddess who lives at the bottom of the frigid Arctic ocean. Sedna is about one-quarter to three-eighths the size of the planet Pluto; and has an extreme elliptical orbit. Cold and removed, Sedna, approaches the Sun only briefly during her ~10,800-year solar orbit. Sedna curiously has a peculiar reddish color, like that of Mars.

Mythically, their are several versions of Sedna’s story. Basically, Inuit Sedna is a beautiful but vain maiden who is quite content living at home with her parents. She refuses several potential husbands but is finally coerced to marry by her father. She ends up marring an evil bird disguised as a man and is wisped away to a distant island for a life of misery. Her father comes to rescue Sedna, but on their way back in her father’s kayak the birdman attacks the kayak. In a vicious struggle and in fear of his life, Sedna’s father either inadvertently or deliberately pushes Sedna overboard into the frigid Arctic waters while severing her frozen fingers from clutching the boat. Sedna eventually drowns in dramatic scenario of deceit, betrayal and abandonment. Sedna becomes the goddess of the sea watching over the mammals of the oceans. Sedna has the head and torso of a woman and the tail of a fish—our mermaiden.

Being recently discovered, Sedna’s astrological influence is still exploratory. Based upon an initial exploration of Sedna’s astrophysical parameters, discovery, and myth, Sedna articulates the “return of the exiled feminine principle.” Sedna’s message is that humanity must recognize the truth about the suppression, persecution, abduction and exploitation of the feminine force in the world; and the mentality perpetuating such must be addressed and changed. Although it is quite obvious of our need for female’s re-emergence and balanced reintegration with the overly dominant patriarchal world, there is still dire hesitancy for such participation due to the often awry, deceptive and exploitative use of creative power by the masculine force in the world.

Sedna’s re-emergence suggests her purpose is to bring forth that which has been hidden, exiled, latent or suppressed; and specifically supporting the emergence of the long-suppressed feminine principle in the world; and the participation of females equally with males in all walks of life; prominently, openly and without fear, abuse, prejudice or exploitation.

Sedna appears to motivate action from a mature social platform, from an open, honest and inclusive humanitarian focus, into an active focus in leadership in the world; to break trail along a new path of discovery by demonstrating that a more feminine humanitarian type of leadership can provide the answers to the challenges our wold faces.

Potential Sedna issues may include: a refusal or hesitancy to participate in fear of being hurt, or from resentment of being hurt; abduction or abandonment issues (self-exile or forced exile); or fear of commitment.

Prior to 1950-1954 Sedna was south of the Celestial Equator (CE) in late sidereal Pisces. We might say that Sedna’s reemergence into the world was gestating in human consciousness up to this time. Sedna’s role supporting the emergence of the feminine shifted significantly around that time, and for those born at this time, as Sedna moved from being submerged in psychic-emotional sidereal Pisces onto the shores of sidereal Aries. Sedna was also crossing from south of Earth’s celestial equator to north at the same time--creating a strong drive to support the feminine reemergence in the world, for that generation and those to follow. We should begin to see another significant shift in the role of the feminine force in the world starting 2011, as Sedna enters the constellation of Taurus, and then in 2014-2017, as Sedna enters sidereal Taurus, supporting a more physically active and prominent participation of females in world. More about Sedna.

The Centaur Asbolus

Asbolus, the seer, lives in a state of “perpetual intuitive attentiveness” and is able to see events from a distance (like remote viewing) specifically attentive to events where misdeeds are occurring, or where that which is private is being violated. Asbolus responds as a protector of that which might be considered sacred to a specific group or culture, especially regarding the possessions of such a group, including the protection of land and sacred or private sites. Asbolus imparts a strong sense of “right use of will,” and without hesitation, will enter into a scenario where psychic-emotional confusion or manipulation exists to stop such disorder. Like most Centaurs, Asbolus can be rogue or radical in its nature, and is able to cut through or penetrate limitations with a mobilizing force to break up that which may be stagnant or held in stasis.

The Venus-Sedna-Asbolus Crescent Moon conjoins Botein of Aries; Rana and Zaurak of Eridanus; Xi and Omicron of Taurus; and the Double Star Clsuter NGC 869 and NGC 884 of Perseus.

This part of the heavens lies under the auspice of Perseus. This is where the hero Perseus demonstrably slays his inner fears and claims his self-mastery, articulated by the story of Perseus and Andromeda, where Perseus slays Medusa (Algol), the Gorgon with seven snakes for hair (cuspal Taurus). This is Perseus' prerequisite to being able to free princess Andromeda from being devoured by Cetus the Sea Monster and for them to step into their greater destiny. Perseus uses the reflection in his shield to watch Medusa, as the sight of Medusa directly turns one to stone—a mythical image suggesting that which freezes us in our tracks is but a reflection of fear within self.

Just prior to the Taurus cusp, in late sidereal Aries, is Zaurak of Eridanus, a point of pause along the initiatory river of life where we must hold and trust our own inner light because the path immediately ahead is not entirely visible. Zaurak conjoins northern Segin, the last of the principal stars of Cassiopeia, which adds an opinionated, penetrating and expressive nature to late Aries. Segin also imparts an embracing watchful perception, especially in dangerous or threatening situations.

Botein, although meaning the belly (of the Ram) actually marks the hind foot in late sidereal Aries. Botein conjoins Omicron and Xi Taurus, two minor stars of Taurus, which mark the beginning of the constellation (not sign). Botein, Omi and Xi impart a fiery energetic force, a creative potential about to erupt. The can also create a sense of frustration, as any fear or hesitancy to step into a physical initiation must be confronted before this potential can express. Rana of Eridanus in the southern heavens, conjoining Botein, marks another stopping point along the river of life and articulates the need for physical regeneration in preparation for what is yet to come, a place to hone one's self in a sense.

Overall, this location in the ecliptic is of a regenerative nature—primal, sexual, erotic, creative and inventive. It can also be volatile, quickly eruptive or explosive like a volcano, penetrating, sharp-tongued, competitive, even somewhat hostile. Thus it requires a need to channel this energy. Either way, it asks us to get grounded and trust instinct rather than reason; and to clear any fears in preparation for the physical challenges ahead.

The Venus-Sedna-Asbolus Crescent Moon theme now amalgamates with our Uranus New Moon theme, engaging our creative process. This Crescent Moon invites us to trust in the feminine intuition, in the path of the heart, art and beauty, and to support the emergence of the feminine force in our lives and in the world—quite fitting in preparation for the upcoming Venus Transit in early June. Asbolus’ presence with Sedna and Venus is especially significant. This synthesis invites us be perceptually attentive to events occurring, especially where violations may be occurring regarding the rights of others. It invites us to use our perception from the heart, to especially trust in our intuitive process, and to use the feminine principle as an active force in our lives. This may be extremely important through the times ahead—to trust in our own heart-light. Asbolus and Sedna may also impel us to address any feelings of hurt, rejection toward, or abandonment of the feminine principle within self. It requires us to embrace and bring forth the feminine within each of us for it to re-emerge into the world.

This entire energetic will be carried into and express through the Venus Transit of June 6, 2012 due to this occurring at the Venus Elongation, at which time this force will emblazon the Earth.

First Quarter Moon Phase Characteristics

Star Chart
First Quarter Moon
Initiate Action

The First Quarter Moon of each lunar cycle draws an external stimulus to initiate action as we move from the inspirational quarter of the lunar cycle into the action quarter. Our First Quarter Moon occurs on March 30 in mid-sidereal Gemini.

The Moon lies opposite Pluto in mid-sidereal Sagittarius, thus forming a T-square with the Sun. The Moon conjoins the feet of Pollux, the ambassador of the Twins, which is formed by Alhena, Gamma Gemini and Alzirr, Xi Gemini. Also conjoining is Mebsuta, Epsilon Gemini, which is a part of Castor, the link and liaison; the Quasar OH471 in Auriga; Urodelus of Ursa Minor; and the Cone Nebula / star cluster NGC2264 of Monoceros the Unicorn.

The Gemini Twins are marked by the two principal stars: Pollux, the immortal extraterrestrial one, and Castor the mortal terrestrial one, the extraterrestrial incarnate. These two stars, which mark the Twins' heads, lie in the last few degrees of sidereal Gemini. The Twins stand upon the galactic equator at a 60° angle to the ecliptic plane, with the "Feet of the Twins" lying in earlier Gemini, upon the "Gate of Man". Thus, Gemini is a galactic constellation and an ecliptical constellation, which inspires the expression of soul purpose through the daily activity of humankind—the theme of the Gate of Man. Sidereal Gemini is of high intensity intellectual communication, information, commerce, goods and services, and of their exchange. The Twins are of partnerships in mutual cooperation participating in the human world, one of linking and uniting through our daily affairs in the world. The Twins work hand-in-hand for the betterment and evolutionary fulfillment of humankind.

Alhena, Gamma Gemini, and Alzirr, Xi Gemini, mark the feet of Pollux. Alhena is the brand, mark or seal, a marking stone for the unfoldment of what lies ahead. Alhena indicates a milestone or a turning point has been reached or is to be acknowledged. Alhena indicates the need to get off the fence of indecision, to drop any hesitation, as the "time is at hand" to go forth anew. It marks a time of commencement.

As the brand, Alhena also indicates that the time, events, or relations are marked or may be destined. Alhena can also manifest simply as a unique sign, indicating an opportunity at hand. Alhena can also indicate one is physically marked in some way that makes one stand out. This can be a brand or specific seal of some sort, which creates a specific resonance, a link of communication for the fulfillment of one's incarnate mission, or even for the arrival and departure of extraterrestrial craft.

As the dividing star of the sidereal sign of Gemini, Alhena invites a separation, a leaving, a departure, and a new commencement, even an exodus or liftoff—to move on and engage in a new level of participation. Behaviorally, Alhena impels leaving an older or less fulfilling way of participation, one more associated with the managerial day-to-day details, associated with Castor, to one more administrative and spiritual, associated with Pollux the ambassador.

Alhena can also indicate the need to sign a document or legalize a project, involvement, or commitment, which makes it possible to engage in a new level of involvement.

Alhena also conjoins Mebsuta of Castor and Theta Gemini, the hand of Castor. Mebsuta and Theta inspire the action upon our immediate and short-term goals at hand; the activity required to get things done in our daily lives and in the world of commerce and communication. Conjoining Urodelus, Epsilon of northern Ursa Minor, imparts an overtly pronounced, blatant, unmistakable and eye-catching expression.

Also conjoining are Beta Monoceros, the Rosetta Nebula and the Cone Nebula of Monoceros the Unicorn; and the Quasar OH471 of Auriga the charioteer. Beta Monoceros, the nebulas and this Quasar indicate a unique opportunity, one unexpected and magical that may be obscured or hidden, but which may appear seemingly out of nowhere, perhaps marked in a unique or unmistakable way, an opportunity that can bring fragmented pieces together that can mobilize a greater unified effort.

The Moon’s opposition to Pluto can bring out intense emotionally-driven communication along with any fears about loss and thus issues surrounding the need to control—something to watch for in any interactions. The T-square configuration with the Sun can create strong Earthgrid resonances, especially with Uranus being so close to the Sun and nearing the Uranus-Pluto square. It also emphasizes the original Sun-Uranus New Moon theme, impelling radical and innovative action.

The Moon-Alhena placement in mid-sidereal Gemini inspires demonstrable action in commerce, communication and the exchange of information, goods and services. It impels us to step forth into collective involvements that serve the betterment of Earth and humanity. With Mercury retrograde, this Gemini Moon makes it opportunistic for the formulation of plans, ventures and new agreements amongst colleagues, most likely plans that will not engage until after Mars returns direct and in the following lunar cycle.

Venus & Orcus

Venus and Orcus begin a new synodic cycle just hours before the Gibbous Moon. This is another energetic in which the upcoming Venus transit will nest.

Orcus

Orcus was discovered on Feb 19, 2004. Although Orcus is a bit smaller than Pluto, Orcus has a nearly identical orbital size, orbital period (year), and orbital inclination. However, Orcus’ orbital plane’s orientation in our solar system is tilted in the opposite direction from Pluto’s. For this reason, I tend to think of Orcus as Pluto’s compliment. Just as Pluto has Charon as its primary moon, so too does Orcus have a moon, Vanth, discovered on Nov 13, 2005. Just as Pluto and Charon are considered a dual planetary system, so too is Orcus and Vanth.

Although new to the astrological world and thus with an astrological influence not yet fully apprehended, based on Orcus’ orbital parameters, Orcus seems to address how we are applying our personal will for the greater well being of all humanity; how we are contributing to human society. Orcus motivates the use of our day-to-day lives, our daily activity for our souls’ greater purpose on Earth. Orcus seems to express a quiet profundity, almost unnoticed as it serves us to get in touch with our deeper soul essence and purpose—the oaths of our souls, our soul-level agreements, what we are really doing here on Earth.

Orcus and Uranus began a new synodic cycle in March of 1947 in late sidereal Taurus and Orcus then crossed its south node (moving from north to south of the ecliptic) and the Gate of Man in early sidereal Gemini in the early 1950s. Thus Orcus is of extra-significance for those born throughout this period.
More about Orcus.

Since Orcus moves quite slowly, the Venus and Orcus synods progress through the zodiak by only a couple of degrees, which creates a consistent and slowly progressing theme. The current synod conjoins the stars of the Sextant, which lie just under Leo and just past Regulus of Leo, which is our upcoming Gibbous Moon star. Orcus lies south of the ecliptic at Gamma Sextans, conjoining it and Alpha Sextans; AL Kaphra of Ursa Major and The Vela Pulsar of Argo Navis.

This area of sidereal Leo is about personal and global leadership, creative energy, evolutionary currents, and our responsibility to define and set the direction of our evolutionary course.

The sextant is a navigational instrument used to determine the "vertical" position (angular distance) of the sun, moon or stars from the horizon. The Sextant’s stars reveals our need to reassess our position or situation, to reorient ourselves, and to take a new tack toward our goals in life with conscious consideration for the changing evolutionary winds and currents upon which we must navigate.

On a mundane level this can be in regard to changing our fundamental approach or path in life. On a greater scale, this can be in regard to changing allegiance of our energies from the outer world, self-sacrificing to diversionary forces or currents in the world around us, to the vertical integrity of our inner soul / source directive and truth.

Much like sailing, changing winds require the application of personal will to change the boat's tack to continue toward our longer-term destination. This requires the assessment of our current position and heading, and of the changing conditions around us—the weather, waves, winds and currents—to responsibly set a new tack along our journeys in life.

Argo Navis is the ship in the mythical story of Jason and the Argonauts, a derivation of the older Sumerian story, Gilgamesh and his fifty Sirian warriors. The Argo lies reverse in the heavens, stern to the east, bow to the west, sailing along the galactic equator, in Earth’s precessional direction. The stars of the Argo are associated with evolutionary matters for the entire planetary system, and for all souls' evolutionary growth and fulfillment—the evolutionary cycle of the soul.

Al Kaphrah of Ursa Major extends from Megrez and Phecda (Phad); and the hind legs of the Great Bear extend from Al Kaphrah, which forms the hind feet of the Bear, Alula Borealis and Alula Australis, and Tania Borealis and Tana Australis. Al Kaphrah imparts a long-standing and established power, expressed as an assertive and powerful creative force applied to steer and protect. It is of stability, enduring strength and established authority. Al Kaphrah also impels the balanced distribution or delegation of power and authority.

The Vela Pulsar, an extremely old Super Nova remnant conjoining Alpha and Gamma Sextans, expresses through the Sextant's theme. Pulsars in general are beacons for the soul, constantly providing an inner message or reminder for those attentive to such subtleties. Here the reminder is that the subtle winds and currents do not stop as we take a new tack, but we must remain alert and maintain our poise as we assess our bearings, all factors involved, and reorient ourselves to engage on the next leg of our sojourn. Although our tack may change due to changing conditions, we must keep focused upon our long-term destination and soul purpose.
The Venus-Orcus synods over the last few years have been progressing under the auspices of Regulus and adjoining stars, which had been impelling us to live in personal integrity, true to our deeper heart’s desires, and to our "soul oaths,” to what we real feel or know we are here to do. Venus and Orcus teach us to trust heart, as this is to trust soul, and to lead and be lead from the heart.

Venus and Orcus impel us to set our current tack through life to direct our evolutionary course based from the heart and from our true and deeper purposes in life. This too will be a part of the formulating theme of the upcoming June 6, 2012 Venus Transit.

Gibbous Moon Phase Characteristics

The Gibbous Moon
Attraction & Involvement

The 24-hour period just before the Gibbous Moon is a time of perseverance, of pushing through in the midst of the action quarter of the lunar cycle. The Gibbous Moon is when the pressure releases and we enter the Pollinating Phase of the lunar cycle, which begins a social and communicative time of magnetic attraction.

Our Gibbous Moon occurs on April 3 in early sidereal Leo and a few degrees before Orcus and retrograde Mars. The Moon conjoins Algieba and Regulus of Leo; Praecipua of Leo Minor; and Phecda of Ursa Major.

Regulus compared to our Sun
NASA Illustration

Regulus, Alpha Leo, is "Chief or King of the Four Royal Stars" (Regulus Fomalhaut, Aldebaran, and Antares). Throughout antiquity Regulus was associated with royalty and kings (the colors royal blue and gold). Its name is given as "the Regulus" or "the Rex," meaning the "Law Giver." Regulus is considered the governing king of the four royals for several reasons. It lies almost exactly upon the ecliptic, thus, once a year around Aug 22-23, during Earth's orbit around the sun, the sun occults Regulus. Residing at 5° sidereal Leo, Regulus is the only one of the four royal stars prominently aspecting Earth's Precessional Cross (the Gate of God at 5° Sag and the Gate of Man at 5° Gemini), both in longitude and in latitude. The Rex is therefore an administrative seat, a foundational star insuring integrity and order.

On the personal level, Regulus is about our inner "vertical integrity," that is, living true to self; openly on the world stage. This means walking in confidence and with self-respect, aligned with the truth in our hearts, in thought, word, and deed. Our personal integrity, our inner vertical attunement, must precede any horizontal, humanitarian participation in the world (Leo's opposite Aquarian pole). Without this inner integrity we become self-sacrificing, entrapped in a sympathetic resonance of dance, giving self away at the cost of our hearts' truth. This perpetuates discord and dysfunction for self and for others because we are simply living a lie. Only by living from our personal integrity and true to heart do we provide opportunity for others to also stand in their integrity and live their truth.

Regulus is of prominence, eminence, nobility, royalty, pride, courage, pioneering pursuits, self-reliance, independence, and influential leadership. Regulus impels the desire to create order, and a dynamic pursuit to win, to be on top or in the limelight. Significant alignments with Regulus often indicate those with a prominent role in the global arena or on stage.

Conjoining Regulus is the Seyfert Galaxy NGC 3227 of Leo, which lies next to Algieba, the mane of the Lion, and expresses the power and wisdom of the Lion—from the integrated head and heart. This Seyfert produce a dynamic and outgoing expression, common to those prominently on stage.

Praecipua of Leo Minor, the lessor Lion, which lies just north of Leo Major, means leader or chief (Latin); and like the stars of early Leo, we have a theme of leadership, nobility, generosity, and of those in prominent positions in the world. Praecipua is also of those behind the stage production—the producers, choreographers, directors, stunt-doubles, and clothiers—those who create the performance and who support Regulus, those on stage.

All of these stars, Regulus, Algieba, Praecipua, etc, are of those who make things happen in the world, of leaders as well as of those behind the scenes—those who set the stage and make productions occur.

Mercury's Surface
by NASA's Messenger

North of the Lion lies the Great Bear (Ursa Major). Megrez and Phecda (Phad) of the Great Bear inspire the responsible administration, management and distribution of power, to ensure it is applied in alignment with our intended evolutionary course. Megrez inspires us to look at things from a different, alternative, or askew perspective to see what is otherwise not seen—to see that which is behind the scenes or creating the appearance. It teaches us discernment, to not be naïve, accepting things from their surface appearance alone. Megrez and Phecda also invite us to look at our selves from an askew perspective to re-examine what drives our persona and the image we project into the world, and if we are living true to our desired course and are an expression of who we really are, or if we are diverted from our true direction.

Our Gibbous Moon invites us to take the lead and to direct a new evolutionary course on Earth by living true to our hearts, in our personal integrity, and true to our deeper soul purposes on Earth.

Mercury Direct

Mercury completes its retrograde on April 4, a day after the Gibbous Moon, which fully engages the new Earth-Mercury synodic cycle that began in the previous lunar cycle, conjoined with Super Galactic Center and which is exalted in sidereal Virgo. Mercury will make its third and final trigger with Uranus on April 22, just after the next New Moon. Mercury’s conjunction with Uranus during its retrograde cycle impelled innovative, original and progressive thinking. It impels us to create new approaches in the logistical aspects of our lives.

The New Mars Makemake 1.9-year Synodic Cycle

Mars and Makemake begin a new 690-day synodic cycle in early sidereal Virgo. The synod conjoins Benetnasch of Ursa Major; Zavijava of Virgo; Beta and Theta Crateris; and the Supergiant Spiral Galaxy M100 and the Pinwheel Galaxy M99 in Coma Berenices.

Mars

Mars is an initiating creative force, of sexuality, vitality, life force, and power. In its mature expression, Mars stimulates our capacity to respond in assertive action. It is of leadership, self reliance, and victorious. It is audacious, brave, instinctual, passionate and willful. For the less mature, or when poorly placed in a chart, Mars can express as the awry or ballistic use of power, lack of self-control, abuse in all if its forms, and with selfish motive and greed that is based in the fear of not surviving or not being provided for. The Mars aspect of self (sacrum, base chakra, adrenals sexual organs) is the area generally held in most judgment by many people—due to this force having been used destructively and manipulatively in the history of the solar system resulting in aberrations and devastation of life; hence often dubbed the planet of war. Because of this, total rejection and lack of love is often projected toward the Mars quality / base chakra of self—alienating it even more.

Makemake

Makemake (pronounced MAH-keh MAH-keh - “e” is pronounced “ay” in Polynesian) is the Polynesian name for the creator god of humanity in the mythology of the South Pacific island of Rapa Nui (Easter Island). Makemake was recently discovered on March 31, 2005. Based upon an exploration of Makemake’s orbital parameters and its recent role during the 2008-2011 economic turn, Makemake appears to bring attention to leadership issues regarding the administration of resources; and in areas involving economics and finance. It may also impel strategic planning and enterprising action to create environmental conditions that ensure a healthy, prosperous and abundant life for groups or for the people in general. Makemake may also act to sort out those who are truly worthy of being in a leadership role from those who are not. More about Makemake.

Sidereal Virgo supports the preparation and purity of self for our greatest wellbeing and highest evolutionary attainment. On a mundane level, Virgo is of hard work; is health conscious and methodical in development and progress; it is of order, continuity, stability, new beginnings, cultivation, and harvest—the sign of agriculture. Virgo imparts a meticulous, organized nature and a strong focus in communication and logistics.

The first few degrees of sidereal Virgo have a transitional energetic, from the out-going, on stage dramatics of Leo into the purer, intellectual and spiritual aspects of Virgo. The Leo-Virgo cusp is however also of political-religious figureheads along with their grand diversionary dramatics.

Benetnasch (Eta, Ursa Major) is the Tail of the Great Bear. The Arabic name for Benetnasch is Alkaid, which means "the leader." Benetnasch teaches that leadership is about facilitating the self-empowerment and freedom of others rather than about exerting manipulative force that controls others, mistaken as leadership and being in power.

Benetnasch expresses the old dictatorial and totalitarian stream of consciousness that was predominantly dominant when Earth's polar alignment was tilted (had fallen) furthest from the galactic plane in Earth's great precessional year (about 6000 years ago). Thus Benetnasch is of this long-established totalitarian governing paradigm—generally of a patriarchal nature. It is of the political-religious factions of big business.

In its old form and when expressing with influence of the stars of late Leo (the tail of the Lion, the racket of Canes Venatici and the hot air of Antilia), Benetnasch articulates those who tend to act as manipulating and controlling godheads, which perpetuates a dogmatic societal structure that keeps individuals from becoming self-responsible and from evolving into their own self-mastery. It is of leadership that dictates what is right for people and what they should do by using dramatic and diversionary propaganda, rather than supporting others to make their own choices in freedom. It can be of the self-proclaimed saviors of the world who try to amass their blind followers for their own interest in maintaining a position of power and wealth. The days of dictators, gurus and followings, perhaps at one time served the sleeping masses, but they are now manipulative and suppressive to the emergence of a new soul-aware consciousness on Earth.

This gorgeous color CCD image shows M99, a type Sc spiral galaxy in the constellation Coma Berenices, and a prominent member of the Virgo Cluster of Galaxies. Its face-on orientation fully reveals its spiral arms, and this picture has been `flattened' (in brightness) to show arm structure both near the nucleus and into the outer regions of the galaxy (most representations either saturate the center or do not go deep enough to see the edges). This picture was taken in February 1996 at the 0.9-m telescope of Kitt Peak National Observatory. Credit: AURA/NOAO/NSF

When expressing with more of Virgo's influence (and the stars of Coma Berenices, Crateris, and Velorum), and for the more mature and spiritually awakened, Benetnasch articulates leadership that provides opportunity for people to live in the freedom of their own choices and to become self-empowered, and to awaken in consciousness rather than acquiescing as blind followers.

Conjoining Benetnasch is Zavijava, which lies nearly on the ecliptic. Although a star of Virgo, Zavijava lies outside the realm of Virgo proper, before the head of the Virgin. It does not offer the clarity and purity of awareness common to the rest of the Virgo stars. Zavijava is of a passive and submissive character, articulating the blind and naïve followers of the Benetnasch directive / big business and government. These are most often innocent naive unquestioning people who get swayed by the diversionary dramatics of their manipulative leaders and believe in the miss-information they are being fed.

Benetnasch and Zavijava ask us to examine and discern whether we are blindly following self-proclaimed totalitarian authoritarian political-religious rulers and gurus and their propaganda or if we are seeking a deeper fulfillment (Crateris) based in and guided by true spiritual principles—trusting our own inner guidance. As business or political leaders, Benetnasch and Zavijava ask us to examine whether we are dictating behavior and are creating followings, or if we are facilitating the self-empowerment and freedom of those under us or those we may govern. They ask us to evolve how we are using power and our positions of authority—to learn that being in a position of power is a position of service.

Makemake has been crossing the sidereal Leo-Virgo cusp over the last few years. Saturn and Makemake conjoined in opposition to Uranus in late sidereal Leo in late 2008, at the time when the global financial crisis took hold. Makemake remained a key player in opposition to Uranus for a few years thereafter (presented in the 2008-2011 Timeline). Makemake is just starting to move into the purer qualities of sidereal Virgo now that it has enter the Coma Berenices star field, and will fully do so as it passes the North Galactic Pole (NGP) at 5° sidereal Virgo in a couple more years, and more so as it makes its way over the Super Galactic Center (~7°). The Next Mars-Makemake synod occurring in February 2014 will conjoin the NGP. Thus Makemake is currently making its transition into a definitively different stellar energetic.

Mars and Makemake may motivate an intensely accelerated assertive creative physical drive for achievement. Competitiveness at a high cost and controversy may be a part of this theme. On the positive, which we may have yet to witness until Makemake moves further into sidereal Virgo, this may inspire assertive leadership based more from audacious integrity and spiritual awareness.

Excerpt from the May 14, 2010 Lunar Planner:

“Mars and newly discovered Makemake begin a new 1.9-year (synodic) cycle. Makemake continues to play a very prominent role in the ongoing global financial restructuring. In fact, it was just after the Last Quarter Moon of the previous lunar cycle when Jupiter made its first of three oppositions to Makemake. This was May 5-6, when Europe’s failure to contain Greece’s fiscal crisis triggered a 4.3 percent drop in the euro. This was the biggest weekly decline since October of 2008, when the long-standing aspects involving the Uranus opposition to Makemake and Saturn began. Mars and Saturn will also begin a new 2-year (synodic cycle) a bit later in this lunar cycle, with both cycles inspiring a new dynamic of responsible and administrative creative action.” (The May 14, 2010 Lunar Planner)

In addition, China's largest reported oil spill into the Yellow Sea occurred in a dramatic pipeline explosion when Mars conjoined Makemake in July of 2010, just into the start of the previous Mars-Makemake synodic cycle, which occurred in May of 2010.

It should be noted however that these events occurred when Makemake and Saturn were in late sidereal Leo, a very fiery and explosive area of the zodiak, which is common to smokescreens, cover-ups, diversionary commotion and grand spectacle. The Mars-Makemake conjunction was also leading into the potent Saturn-Pluto-Jupiter T-square of late July 2010, so we cannot attribute all of this merely to a Mars-Makemake synthesis.

Mars will complete its retrograde and return direct in this new Mars-Makemake synodic cycle later this lunar month. Thus we may still see tremendous motive for dominance from the “power-hungry resource controllers.” Yet at the same time, we may start to see a more mature form of leadership start to emerge, perhaps more so however in the following Mars-Makemake-NGP cycle starting in February 2014. So for now, intense competition may continue to play out between the energy-monger leaders and activists with a more spiritually mature intent who want to create a nurturing world both environmentally and for the human populous.

Full Moon Phase Characteristics

Star Chart
The Full Moon & Sun-Haumea
Vision, Enthusiasm, & Realization of the Theme
& the New Earth-Haumea Synodic Cycle

The Full Moon marks the culmination point in the lunar cycle, the climax, the point of excitement and celebration. The hours leading up to the Full Moon provide a time of "vision and enthusiasm." The time just after Full Moon is a one of "realization of the lunar month's theme," a time to kick back and relax, to allow our realizations to surface in consciousness.

The Full Moon of April 6 occurs in sidereal Virgo. The Moon conjoins the Dwarf Planet Haumea, which lies north of the ecliptic in Boötes. The Sun opposes Haumea the day after the New Moon, which means the Sun, Earth and Haumea align, beginning a new annual Earth-Haumea synodic cycle, the theme of which is the same as this Full Moon.

Haumea

The Dwarf Planet Haumea (pronounced how-MAY-ah) was discovered on Dec 28, 2004. Haumea has two moons, Hi’iaka (pronounced HEE-’ee-AH-kah) and Namaka (pronounced nah-MAH-kah).

Haumea is the goddess of childbirth and fertility in Hawaiian mythology. Her many children sprang from different parts of her body. She takes many different forms and has experienced many different rebirths. Martha Warren Beckworth suggests the name Haumea more naturally comes from Hanaumea, meaning “sacred birth.” Hence we have an essence of “purity” or a birth of specialness, the ability to produce a fresh or clear state of consciousness.

Haumea’s propensity is to intercede with dynamic motion from a state of equilibrium and poise to support a new birth in consciousness, especially the use of the fundamental primordial forces of life. Haumea also appears to motivate action to reorient world powers’ militaristic destructive use of power and resources into a nurturing force that supports and protects life, home and family; and that aids humanity’s emergence into a spiritually and primordial aware state of being. At a personal level, Haumea inspires the application of our personal attributes and resources for these same principles.

The Pluto-Haumea Synodic Cycle of 1955

Pluto and Haumea began a new synodic cycle in 1955 in early sidereal Leo, with the Pluto-conjunction occurring throughout 1954-1955. People born at that time of or after the Pluto-Haumea synod have entered into an entirely new cycle and energetic. A Pluto-Haumea synod is a very rare event, with the next to occur in about 3500 A.D., thus creating a very long cycle (~1545 years). The theme of this Pluto-Haumea cycle, under the auspices of the Head of the Lion, and for those generations following the 1955 synod, in general, inspires a new birth in consciousness built upon integrity in leadership, with impetus to deconstruct the old form of leadership. Those born in the several years preceding the 1955 synod are paving the way, creating the opening for this new birth in in consciousness and new expression in leadership to emerge. More about Haumea.

The Moon and Haumea conjoin Kraz of Corvus; Seginus and the Gamma Ray Burst in Boötes; the Quasar 3C279 in Virgo and Beta Volans.

Corvus is of high intelligence, ingenuity, imagination, insight and adaptability. The brains of Ravens are among the largest of any bird species. They are problem solvers, inventors and are highly opportunistic. Corvus is the keeper of secrets and a knowledge holder, but is also a prophetic revealer—the “raven messenger bird” to those who are spiritually and physically attuned, and who ask and listen. Corvus reminds us to pay acute attention to the signs or messages naturally expressing through the world around us moment-by-moment and to adapt accordingly. The signs found in the simplest of life experience can have meaning if we are willing to be attentive to them. In fact, we can even ask to receive guidance simply by briefly holding the intent to inquire and then letting it go. It is the sincere projection of clear intent that vibrationally invokes a response from the world around us. Corvus is a protector as well, of both the animal and human worlds, and will forewarn of approaching danger to avert unnecessary mishaps, as well as to affirm fortuitous opportunities, meetings or events.

Conjoining Algorab and Kraz of Corvus is Quasar 3C279, which lies exactly on the ecliptic plane, along the spinal column of the Virgin, its spinal placement again articulating the natural mechanism or neurology of subtle energy communication.

Quasars (Quasi-Stellar-Radio-Source) are not only visible objects, but they emit a wide band of photons (light particles) throughout the electromagnetic spectra, from the infrared up through human's visible range of light, through the ultra-violet (UV), the gamma rays range, and into the radio range of the electromagnetic spectrum. Their multi-spectral emanations tend to stimulate an awareness that extends beyond or pierces our rather narrow band of visual perception, thereby offering new non-conforming possibilities of conceptual thought. They can express as images or non-conforming forms that can draw us into a transcendent perceptual exploration, which then motivates new behavior or a new expression fitting to our expanded awareness. In general, we might think of quasars as providing stimulus for alternative creative conception and expression.

Quasar 3C279 can manifest as imagery in the natural world for those perceptive enough that can be interpreted as "messages through nature," which must be listened to and acted upon, as nature’s expression is the guidance itself at this zodiakal longitude.

Volans (Piscis Volantis), the unique flying fish, generally found in warmer tropical oceans, is known for its wing-like pectoral fins that allow it to glide through the air. Volans, resides quite south in the heavens, under the stern and keel of the Argo, which is associated with navigational mapping and transcendent forces and evolutionary currents that direct our lives. Volans is associated with our soul-ar plane (not earth plane), specifically laying the foundation that supports our souls' uninhibited true expression—the capacity to pierce the limiting envelope of our existing perceptional bubble and birth into new life expression or realm of consciousness.
Earth Haumea Synod.

Boötes, the Virgin’s consort and protector, stands over the Virgin giving birth, over the Virgo-Libra cusp, ensuring a safe and unadulterated birth from the Virgin. Boötes stands against the fallen corrupt totalitarian world powers that have demonstrated the inability over and again to ensure evolutionary fulfillment, with the continual destruction of the peoples of the Earth and typical catastrophic outcomes. The body of Boötes stands between the pure lucida of the Virgin (Spica) blocking the attempted manipulations of corrupt world powers (Benetnasch). He also stands protecting the Northern Crown and its principle (a soul's attainment of ascension).

Boötes is of strength and responsibility. Boötes functions not by outward force but by spiritual awareness and astute intuitive prowess in the application of the knowledge about environmental issues and transcendent subtle forces. Boötes' action is based from a place of receptivity and sensitivity to the situation at hand, action associated with planning, preparation, and strategy.

Seginus, the left shoulder of Boötes, the Virgin’s consort and protector, is of strength and responsibility. It along with the stars forming the upraised arm and hand, Gamma, Theta, Iota and Kappa, impel rebellious stance against manipulative or medaling totalitarian authorities attempting to interfere with the healthy birth and expression of soul consciousness on Earth. Seginus conjoins Muphrid, the left foot of Boötes, which impels confident non-hesitant action to provide personal and intimate support by making possible and ensuring proper energetic environments are created so that souls have the opportunity to birth, evolve and express in their highest potential and achieve evolutionary fulfillment. Muphrid and Seginus lie over the lower spinal sacrum (sanctum) of the Virgin and the Virgin's womb—protecting the Virgin's principles, its purity, and that of gestation, birth, and life itself.

Our Haumea Full Moon brings our awareness to what this Uranian lunar cycle is about and to what is of importance--to create a new birth in our lives and in our world. Our Full Moon brings our attention to our personal attunement and living in astute attentiveness to the natural world around us, and acting upon the messages expressing through the natural world to guide us in mobilizing change in our lives and in our world. It brings us to question if that which we are pursuing in our lives is based upon messages of the natural world, as this attunement is essential to know how to support and facilitate a new birth in consciousness and a new world paradigm. Participating as if things are going to continue in the same way will result in wasted efforts and worse yet will leave us evolving lives based upon infrastructures that may no longer exist in the near future. It brings us to examine if that which we are doing is merely acquiescing to a modality of life dependant upon an antiquated system for our survival, or are we creating a new system that supports sustainability for all life and one that will lead to a healthy and prosperous enlighten human race.

The Turning: April 10-13

Disseminating Moon Phase Characteristics

Star Chart
The Disseminating Moon
Manifestation & Demonstration

The hours leading up to the Disseminating Moon generally is an accelerated and busy time of last minute preparation that leads into the birth point in the lunar cycle, the time of bearing the fruit of the cycle, of claiming its gift, of living that which we have been learning.

The Sun, Vesta & Eris

The Sun and Vesta conjoin in late sidereal Pisces on April 9-10, just minutes before the Disseminating Moon. The Sun and Eris conjoin on April 11, just after the Disseminating Moon, as Vesta and Eris conjoin, which occurs on April 13.

The Sun Vesta conjunction marks the mid-point of vision and realization in the current 492-day Earth-Vesta synodic cycle that began on August 5, 2011, occurring in the July 30, 2011 Lunar Planner. The Sun-Eris alignment marks the mid-point in the current Earth-Eris synodic cycle that began on October 15, 2011, occurring in the September 27, 2011 Lunar Planner. These two cycles now synchronize through the coinciding midpoints of their cycles on this Disseminating Moon.

Vesta

Vesta is the asteroid of Focus, Dedication & Commitment; of physical, emotional, and mental clarity; and of self-respect. Vesta brings a capacity to be pure within self at all levels for the expression of one’s highest potential and true Essence. Vesta is of strength, purity, and perfection—of total dedication to purpose. Vesta brings attention to that which is of true importance to us and will ignite and burn away that which is not so we can become clear. Vesta is keeper of the sacred flame within self. Vesta asks us to examine our inner values, our passion in life, to become clear on it, and to use our creativity to keep that fire alive.

Potential Vesta issues are: scatteredness, with an inability to focus, commit or carry through; and avoidance of one’s true purpose. Vesta can express as denials to address the mental, emotional and physical purification to support being a pure bio-logical vessel for the expression of Spirit—the requirements to express our true soul intent and purpose. This can manifest as fear of commitment, fear of sex and intimacy in all of its forms, and an invalidation of the emotional and physical aspects of self.

Vesta was discovered on 29 March 1807 by the German physician Heinrich Wilhelm Matthaus Olbers (1758-1840), He named the asteroid for the Roman goddess of virtue at the suggestion of Carl Friedrich Gauss. Vesta was near the Super Galactic Center, the spiritual mother center of the Heavens, in sidereal Virgo—a placement quite fitting to Vesta’s relationship to the Virgin principle.

In mythical language, Vesta is the revered goddess of the Vestal Virgins, the daughter of Rhea and Saturn, the eldest sister of Jupiter, and is keeper of the sacred fire on Mt. Olympus—meaning keeper of the eternal flame (truth) of the soul within self. Fire, the element of Vesta, is purifying for the soul—serving to enlighten and enliven. Vesta and the Vestal Virgins were highly valued and trusted for speaking the truth. They kept and protected all important documents and records. Vesta is also the Roman goddess of the hearth, home and family. More about Vesta and the current Misson to Vesta.

Eris

Eris, the Great Disruptor, has a radical and interceding nature, overturning our current perception, but with purpose, so we may expand and redefine our perceptual view of the reality in which we live. Eris, discovered in 2005 in Cetus, was responsible for the formation of the new “Dwarf Planet” classification and the reclassification of Pluto to Dwarf Planet status, the family to which Eris, Pluto and the asteroid Ceres now belong. This caused quite a commotion in both the astronomical and astrological communities. However, this proved to be appropriate as additional new Dwarf Planets were discovered shortly afterward.

Mythologically, Eris is the Greek god of strife. Eris’ daughter, Dysnomia, is the name given to the moon of Eris. Dysnomia is said to be the “spirit of lawlessness”—disruptor of civil order. Eris, however, had two daughters, Dysnomia and the opposite and peaceable one, Eunomia, who ends strife. Dysnomia is also the name given to a nominal recall (dys) disorder—a memory problem associated with naming (nouns); the inability to retrieve names when needed—”its on the tip of my tongue.”

Eris demonstrated, right from the start, her no-nonsense astrological role as the great disruptor. Although the discovery of Eris created discord at first, a new order followed with the new classification of Dwarf Planets (fitting to the theme of her daughter Eunomia). This is significant when considering Eris’ astrological character.

Discordant Eris provokes change by upsetting the status quo, by upsetting the apple cart. Although Eris can create a disrupting commotion, upsetting our existing, limiting and antiquated structures of consciousness. She opens us to see beyond the finite bounds of our current perception, beyond the bounds we place upon ourselves by arousing and challenging our egoic defenses. In doing so, we are left to redefine and reorganize our world view to embrace a far vaster reality—a view more fitting to our rapidly expanding awareness.

Eris’ discovery in Cetus, the Technobureaucratic Monster of Collective Human Consciousness, indicates Eris is disrupting the fear-driven bureaucratic world of mass consensus to help our emergence from the belly of the ole’ whale into a new world paradigm. Being a very slow mover, Eris is still making its passage through the gut of Cetus—continuing to disrupt fear-based collective human consciousness and the technobureaucratic monster driving it. Eris’ influence has been working, for the most part, at sub-conscious emotional level—perhaps continuing to increase the unrest with the status quo in the human populous.

Discordant Eris tends to impart its disruptive nature more so with harmonious aspects than hard aspects, as pointed out by Thomas Canfield in his book “Yankee Doodle Discord: A Walk with Planet Eris through USA history." This Vesta-Eris-Sun conjunction may disrupt our current focus, plans, and what we thought we were dedicated to, especially due to financial and emotional upsets or through events upsetting the status quo of humanity. It may serve us to redefine and refocus our priorities in our lives.

The Disseminating Moon occurs at prominent and potent location in the ecliptic, conjoining retrograde Juno on the North Lunar Node. The potent and significant North Node star alignments in Ophiuchus/sidereal Scorpion remain the same (Sco X-1, Herc-X-1), presented in the Grand Square presentation in the February 21, Lunar Planner.

Venus has also moved to conjoin the South Lunar Node. Retrograde Mars is still square the Lunar Nodes, and now to the Venus-South Node / Juno-North Node axis. Mars is also opposite the Chiron-Neptune midpoint, all creating another prominent activation of the Grand Square, which now takes on an energetic shift due to now retrograde Juno and the arrival of Venus to the South Lunar Node.

This, along with the Sun-Vesta-Eris conjunction, may impel a strong reorientation of the heart. What we though was our heart focus and pursuits based on past desires and passions, may now need to shift. The motive here may be multi-faceted. On one hand, the focus becomes a need to re-define our relationships and partnerships, and how we interrelate, kicking off the Juno retrograde cycle. This may be based upon changing desires catalyzed by financial/emotional alterations (not necessarily negative or positive) occurring in our lives. It may also motivate application of our heart’s passion and resources to support significant others in our lives in a new way, and/or to help redefine and support fundamental changes in our relationships and how we interrelate in and with life.

Pluto Retrograde

Pluto stations to begin its retrograde on April 10 in mid-sidereal Sagittarius, the morning after the Disseminating Moon, our day of Demonstrable Manifestation in the lunar cycle. This marks “the turning,” when Pluto and Uranus begin to tighten their orb to the first of seven triggers in the 2011-2013 Uranus Pluto square. This first trigger (geocentric square) will not occur until the time of the solstice, after the Venus Transit in June. However, this orb is but a few degrees now, and it will continue to tighten over the weeks ahead. Thus lunar and planetary aspects to it will continue to intensify. We now start feel/ experience a rather intense squeeze into this few-year long portal of “Revolution and Revelation.”

The Pluto station occurs just as the Sun conjoins Eris, and as Vesta and Eris conjoin, mentioned above. The Pluto station also occurs as we enter the Mars station. Mars returns direct on the Last Quarter Moon. The potent Disseminating Moon Grand Square occurring as Pluto begins its retrograde, and in the station of Mars as it returns direct on the Last quarter Moon (all occurring on April 10-13, 2012), create a rather dynamic and intense “turning” in our evolutionary cycles.

Last Quarter Moon Phase Characteristics

Last Quarter Moon
Time for Change

The Last Quarter Moon creates our “inner need to initiate change” in the lunar cycle as we move into the cycle’s last and transitional quarter. Our Last Quarter Moon occurs on April 13 in late sidereal Sagittarius. Our day of “inner need” occurs on April 12, day time to be attentive to the inner feelings arising that reveal the changes we need to engage in, as Mars returns direct immediately following the Moon shift, on our day of “initiating change.”

The Last Quarter Moon occurs in the last degrees of sidereal Sagittarius. The Moon conjoins Sulaphat of northern Lyra, Delta Aquila, and Peacock, Alpha Pavo.

Lyra lies in the northern heavens over late sidereal Sagittarius. Vega, the harp star, is the prominent star of Lyra and governs the “second heaven” of the Heptanomis, and of this area of the heavens.

Lyra is the Lyre of Hermes, originally bestowed with the qualities to invoke and communicate the messages of the gods. As the harp of the angelic messengers, its tuning and voice not only impart beauty, beneficence, eloquence, and sensibility to the Zen Archer, but specifically translate divine information into vibration that supports transmutational healing and the spiritual awakening of consciousness.

The stars of Lyra embody various facets of the artsciences of harmonics in light, sound, color, and geometry—particularly the wisdom of the artsciences. They are of vision, creativity, and inspire all that is of multi-media, the arts, and higher education.

Vega embodies the essence of angelic Lyra; the spiritual and visionary art of the angels, or angles—meaning the harmonics of light, sound, and geometry applied in sacred proportion through which Divine Intelligence communicates. Fortuitous Vega offers many potential doorways for fulfillment; especially related to paths pursued in the art-sciences applied for healing and personal evolution. Lyra and Vega provide visionary and artistic inspiration; and add to the qualities of Sagittarius to formulate the lofty ideals held by the Zen Archer.

Lyra, and prominent alignments with Lyra, often indicate involvement with the music of the spheres, that is, the use of natural astronomically and resonant harmonics for healing, illumination, and for greater evolutionary purpose. Prominent alignments and aspects to Lyra are often found in musicians, artists and those involved with art and sciences behind multi-media projects—those with intent to use those art-sciences for healing and the expansion of consciousness. Lyra embodies the wisdom of the application of natural harmonics in light and sound through time in geometric proportion—all working intelligently together.

Lyra is also depicted as the Tortoise Lyre, with the resonant structure being the shell from which rise elegant horns upon which seven strings (of Sheliak) are stretched. Sulaphat is the tortoise shell. Sulaphat embodies the principle of resonance in the harmonics of sacred geometry and associated artsciences. Sulaphat embodies all that is of physical resonance and emotional tone. Here we find the inspiration to re-tune the physical and emotional aspects of our lives. We find support to become fully and harmoniously resonant to our spiritual truth, highest ideals and visions, and to express them into demonstrable material manifestation.

Lyra’s energy is particularly active during the Lyraids meteor shower, visible later in this month. April 21 until dawn April 22 is the best time to see the Lyraids this year. The nights before and after are also worth a look. This year we have a moonless night, which makes for good viewing.

Alpha Pavo, in the southern heavens and which marks the end of sidereal Sagittarius, is of integration, illumination, and beauty, is enduring and immortal, and brings inspiration to express the beauty and wisdom that we are and that we truly seek into physical manifestation.

Our cuspal sidereal Sagittarius-Capricorn Moon inspires the application of our visions and creative ideals into concretized form, to choose from a multiplicity of opportunity for solution and fulfillment, and to make the changes in our lives that can realize this. Here we are also faced with addressing the inherent challenges in the physical world when applying our ideals and visions into practical form.

Mars Direct

Mars completes its retrograde on April 13 (early AM April 14 GMT), hours after Last Quarter Moon. The entire Mars retrograde, new Mars synodic cycle, and the star alignments involved are presented in detail in the article: The New Mars 2012 Synodic Cycle.

The Mars direct station occurring now engages the new Earth-Mars synodic cycle. Occurring in sidereal Leo, Mars conjoins the stars of the Sextant, Alpha and Gamma, which is the same location of the new Venus-Orcus synodic cycle that began early in this lunar cycle, presented above. Synchronistically, Mars and Orcus now geocentrically conjoin within two degrees. (Orcus lies directly opposite Neptune.)

The Mars-Orcus conjunction impels dynamic action in a leadership capacity based from our greater soul purpose on Earth, from the oaths of our souls, our soul-level agreements, and for what really matters in our lives on Earth. Action now and changes we make in our lives on the Last Quarter Moon will be a function of the inner changes we have made over the last few months, during the Mars retrograde and motivated by the new Mars synodic theme.

The Mars station squaring the Lunar Nodes creates a powerful explosive force about to burst into the world and in our lives. This fiery creative energy must have a healthy outlet. If not, it will express destructively and catastrophically. For those who really embrace their cycles of growth in life, who are soul aware and emotionally mature, this energy can be a tremendously progressive creative force that will redefine our evolutionary direction through the times ahead. But let us not be naïve, as this force expressing now may also unleash dramatic social unrest as we enter into the Uranus-Pluto square. Either way, we are motivated once again into dynamic action to participate with the paradigm-changing events occurring in our world.

Mars will maintain its square to the Lunar Nodes and retrograde Juno over the next couple of weeks as this force starts avalanching, which will be a part of the catalyst for redefining relationships. This force will fully mobilize in the New Lunar cycle that will begin in several more days.

The Sun moves onto the shores of sidereal Aries on April 14.

The New Earth-Saturn Synodic Cycle.

The Sun, Earth and Saturn align on April 15, 2012 (a geocentric Sun-Saturn opposition) beginning the new 378-day synodic cycle. Saturn began its retrograde on February 7, 2012 in early sidereal Libra. The Saturn synod occurs just across the cusp into sidereal Libra. This is the first synod occurring in sidereal Libra. The last synodic cycle began in sidereal Virgo on the New Moon of April 3, 2011 conjoining the stars of Corvus, presented in the April 3, 2011 Lunar Planner.

The Earth-Saturn synod conjoins Spica of Virgo, Archturuus, Nekkar and Izar of Boötes; and Delta Centauri. This also marks a principle shift in the seven-fold division of Earth’s precessional polar arc (the Heptanomis). Also of influence is Eta Carina of Argo Navis.

Boötes, standing over the Virgin giving birth, is the Virgin’s consort and protector. Boötes is of strength and responsibility. Boötes functions not by outward force but by spiritual awareness and astute intuitive prowess in the application of the knowledge (Nekkar, the Head of Boötes) about environmental issues and transcendent subtle forces. Boötes’ action is based from a place of wisdom, receptivity and sensitivity to the situation at hand, action associated with planning, preparation, and strategy.

Archturus, the primary (Alpha) star of Boötes, is the administrative seat responsible for the safe evolutionary unfoldment and ascension of Earth and humanity—supporting the pure birth and a healthy and harmonious incarnate life of the soul. Archturus embodies the essence or seed of Boötes (the adom), and is the provider for and protector of the Virgin (Divine Feminine) principle. Archturus lies directly over, and conjoins Spica, the base chakra (Vesica Pisces) of the Virgin. This conjunction indicates a destined, sanctified, and perfect Divine Union of these two principles—the integrated masculine and feminine principles.

Boötes stands against the fallen corrupt totalitarian world powers that have demonstrated the inability over and again to ensure evolutionary fulfillment, with the continual destruction of the peoples of the Earth and typical catastrophic outcomes. The body of Boötes stands between the pure lucida of the Virgin (Spica) blocking the attempted manipulations of the old totalitarian and corrupt world powers (Benetnasch). Boötes ensures the proper use of creative and reproductive energies and all that is involved in creating the proper harmonic environment or resonance for a harmonious evolutionary unfoldment.

Spica, Alpha Virgo is a rotating binary star with a period of 4.015 days. Spica is of “loyalty and fidelity”—to Boötes, her divine compliment, or in more embracing terms, to the Archturian directive—to see to the safe ascension of Earth and humanity. Spica holds the secrets for and impels the need to be pure within self. Spica embodies knowledge about the proper use of one’s chi, of our sexual and reproductive energies, of body fluids, of herbs and elixirs, of sacred sex; and all that is related.

In more embracing terms, the Archturus-Spica (Boötes-Virgo) synthesis exemplifies the Divine Masculine and the Divine Feminine in their unadulterated Divine Union, able to express, birth, and manifest the purest expressions of Unity Consciousness. The Archturus-Spica synthesis articulates the entwined masculine and feminine forces spiraling into their full potential, free from entrapment in a karmic-based path of soul growth, or from incurring such repercussions.

Eta Carina enters the ecliptic in late sidereal Virgo and due to its massive and extremely active nature, it significantly and prominently influences the latter part of Virgo; the womb (inner sanctum) of the Virgin, and the themes of Spica and Archturus and of Muphrid and Seginus; and the Virgo-Libra cusp.

Eta Carina is the most luminous, massive, and energetic star known in our galaxy—estimated to be 100 times the mass of our Sun, and to radiate five million times more energy than our Sun. A gas shell surrounding Eta extends 4000 times the size of our solar system. Eta is highly unstable and prone to violent outbursts. Eta was seen to erupt in 1840 A.D., then making it the second brightest star in the sky. Eta recently doubled its X-ray emissions in a four-month period sometime between 1992 to 1994, indicating an intensified influence of the Eta Carina theme. Eta then doubled in brightness in 1998—perhaps Eta's warnings. Current observations indicate that Eta Carinae remains highly unstable and may explode as a supernova at any time!

Eta Carina is Lord of the Waves (the Akkadian Ea (Ia), the Sumerian Enki, chief god of the city Eridhu—he who warned Noah), generally is considered the foreteller of impending catastrophe, but also the instructor of the way through such evolutionary transitions. Eta is also associated with the Sirian amphibious fish-man "Oannes," who taught the Chaldaeans, both esoteric science and that which would civilize their lives, from building cities and temples to agricultural technique (Robert Temple, "The Sirius Mystery" / Blavatsky, "Isis Unveiled"). Eta embodies the esoteric Gnostic wisdom behind what to most is merely the mystery of life or unfathomable acts of God. Oannes is the emblem of priestly, esoteric wisdom; he comes out from the sea, because the 'great deep', the water, typifies...the secret doctrine." (Blavatsky, "Isis Unveiled")

Due to Eta’s strong X-ray spectrum and galactic equatorial orientation, it expresses significantly at the soul level—stimulating an awakening on Earth to our greater purpose as sentient souls responsible for Earth's safe evolutionary outcome. As a part of Argo Navis and the Argo's keel, Eta is of navigational matters regarding the evolution of the entire soul collective on Earth.

Eta Carina's impending Super Nova explosion, is a portent of evolutionary change and impels environmental preparation for such change. It also indicates that something with far greater potential and magnitude can and will birth through the human form—a far greater expression of consciousness. Eta stimulates our need to prepare for and to become capable of this greater expression of consciousness, to create an inner bio-logical environment that is capable of a higher expression of consciousness as well as one that can support such a physical birth.

Overall, cuspal Libra is about our intimate relation with life, our personal environments, supporting a new birth, whether physically or in consciousness, and having the personal and harmonious environmental support to express our greatest potential and achieve our evolutionary fulfillment. This Saturn synodic cycle brings us to our sobering responsibility to evolve and ensure that such physical concretize dependable support exists in our lives and in our societal and environmental infrastructures.

Saturn will station and return direct on June 25 opposite Eris, at which time the new Saturn Cycle will fully engage.

The New Vesta-Eris synodic Cycle

In addition to the geocentric Sun-Vesta-Eris conjunction that occurred on the Disseminating Moon, Vesta and Eris also begin a new synodic cycle on April 15, 2012 (the Sun-Vesta-Eris alignment). This synod in sidereal Pisces conjoins Revati of Pisces and Baten Kaitos of Cetus. This cycle may be about our need to get clear and focused on how to address the upheaval of our existing financial paradigm and the dysfunctional techno-bureaucratic fear-driven system. This cycle is 3.6-years in duration (occurring from April 15, 2012 through Dec 5, 2015), the end of which will precede the Uranus-Eris synod occurring in December of 2016, with the Uranus-Eris geocentric conjunctions occurring from June 2016 through March 2017. The Uranus-Eris conjunction follows the 2012-2015 Uranus-Pluto Square.

Balsamic Moon Phase Characteristics

Star Chart
Balsamic Moon
Focus to the Future

The Balsamic Moon marks the time in lunar cycle when we coalesce the experience of the lunar cycle into its seed essence, which will then sprout through the theme of the following lunar cycle. It is when we turn our attention from this lunar cycle in anticipation of the next to come. The hours before the Balsamic Moon provide our time of coalescence while those after mark the time when we turn 180° from looking back over the past cycle and look forward toward the next cycle to come.

The Balsamic Moon occurs on April 16-17 in sidereal Aquarius. It conjoins Hydor of Aquarius, the V407 Nova in Aquarius; Zeta Phoenix and Alpha Hydrus.

Hydor, Lambda Aquarius, lies in and guides the stream of the flowing waters of the humanitarian waterbearer. Hydor simply means water. Like the stars of the urn from which the waters flow, Sadalmelik, Sadachbia, Seat, Zeta and Eta (the Diamond of Aquarius), Hydor is a fortuitous star. This zodiacal location is also related to Varuna, goddess of the water's of life, who invites us to allow nature's way to weave its course.

Directly conjoining Hydor of Aquarius is southern Alpha Hydrus (not to be confused with Hydra). Classically, Alpha Hydrus is the tail of Hydrus, yet some modern renderings show it as the head. Hydrus is a very southern constellation, lying at the south ecliptic pole. As such, it is of the soul collective's fundamental essence—a protogenoi of life, specifically the fundamental nourishing primordial waters from which life emerges. Alpha Hydrus articulates our fundamental basic needs of life—that which the entire human family requires for its basic existence—the needs of the people and that which should be denied to none. Also conjoining is Zeta Phoenix, which imparts a progressive warrior type quality, of creating movement and getting things done for a beneficial outcome.

This is also the exalted location for Neptune. Neptune’s surface is not solid like Earth. It is composed of a heavy layer of swirling clouds mainly composed of methane. Neptune’s bright blue surface appearance continually changes due to underlying winds that blow up to about 700 miles per hour. This dense atmosphere morphs into liquid moving inward toward its icy silicate core. Neptune is made up mainly of hydrogen, helium, water and silicates Neptune’s geophysical nature is one of the reasons for Neptune’s amorphous astrological nature, which is of dreams, visions, and ideals. Neptune dissolves that which is fixed and segregated into universality—the quality of humanitarian Aquarius.

These stars are favorable of work and pursuits that have of an amorphous and watery character, that support progressive movement, flow and change, that tend to equalize and dissolve boundaries.

The V407 Cygni Nova conjoins Hydor, Zeta Phoenix and Alpha Hydrus. V407 Cygni's zodiacal longitude and recent outburst emphasizes the essence of humanitarian Aquarius and these conjoining stars.

An unusually bright and unexpected outburst from what was thought to be a normal star in the constellation Cygnus was detected by two Japanese astronomers, Koichi Nishiyama (Fukuoka, Japan) and Fujio Kabashima (Saga, Japan), in images taken on March 10, 2010 (10:48 UT). An independent discovery of this outburst was also made by Tadashi Kojima. This indicates a slow nova outburst that may have been in progress since 1936. Its significant placement in the heavens makes this a profound and timely discovery--like a bright focused light turning on in human consciousness. A Nova, or any type of stellar explosion such as that occurring with V407 of Cygnus, brings attention to, excites, and energizes the zodiakal longitude of the stellar burst. V407 Cygni lies in the northern heavens along the galactic equator just past the very primary and principle star, Deneb of Cygnus (06° 31' past Deneb and 01° 30' south of Deneb, in ecliptical longitude and latitude). This close proximity to Deneb brings a significant emphasis to the astrological qualities of Deneb as well. Deneb embodies our unadulterated androgynous pure soul essence before fragmentation into race, sex, or creed. Deneb inspires us to stand in the awareness of our pure soul essence, in this wholeness and to participate from the maturity of unity consciousness, unbiased and beyond the segregations and categorizations common to modern-day mass-consciousness.

This coalesces the seed for this lunar cycle’s experience, which will sprout anew into the following lunar cycle. This lunar cycle may have been somewhat intense and dynamic, but it brought us to a greater humanitarian awareness and focus (or should have).

Our next New Moon occurs on April 21, 2012 in early sidereal Aries. More to come then.
